The verdict in the case between DF chairman Morten Messerschmidt and political leader Martin Lidegaard (R) will be handed down on 16 October.
This was announced by the presiding judge at the Court of Frederiksberg on Tuesday, after the court proceedings were concluded.
The verdict will be delivered on Friday, 16 October at 12:45 p.m.
It had been announced in advance that it could take up to eight weeks before a verdict would be delivered in the case, which Morten Messerschmidt has brought against Martin Lidegaard.
According to Messerschmidt, Lidegaard made defamatory statements during a political debate at Democracy Day in Randers on 10 November 2025.

The Radical Party leader's comments came in the wake of an article and a podcast in Weekendavisen, where Messerschmidt spoke about deportation of criminal foreigners and foreigners who cannot support themselves.
He embraced the idea of remigration, which Lidegaard believes goes too far. This is a policy where immigrants or their descendants are encouraged or pressured to leave the country and return to their country of origin.
During the debate, Lidegaard said that the Danish People's Party wants to deport thousands of people with a different skin colour.
- They want to intern and deport thousands of fellow citizens, just because they have a different faith or a different skin colour than most of us in this room, he said.
Lidegaard has since acknowledged to Ritzau that Messerschmidt did not use the word "skin colour", and that it is bluntly put. But he maintains that the proposal will affect people with a different skin colour than ethnic Danes.
