Swimming ban at three beaches in Gribskov
-------------------------------------------
By
John Broby Hansen ( [email protected] )
Despite good weather for a swim, Gribskov Municipality advises against swimming at three beaches on the north Zealand coast in the weekend.
Gribskov Forsyning informs that there has been a leak from the sewage treatment plant in Udsholt.
The leak has been stopped, but it means that you cannot swim at Udsholt Beach, Tinkerup Beach and Gilleleje West Beach.
The leak affects only this stretch - so you can still swim at the other beaches in Gribskov.
There is onshore wind at the moment, and this increases the risk that the polluted water will wash up on the beach.
Swimming ban applies also to all the private beaches that are located within the affected stretch.
The municipality has set "Swimming is prohibited" signs on the affected beaches.

*Iran about the US:* 'We do not know how we can trust them anymore'
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Iran's trust in the US is gone, and therefore it will be difficult to negotiate a peace agreement on the spot if the US is to act as a peace mediator between Iran and Israel.
This says Iran's foreign minister, Seyyed Araghchi, in an interview with NBC News ( https://www.nbcnews.com/world/iran/iran-not-sure-can-trust-america-israeli-attack-irans-foreign-minister-rcna214139 ).
- We do not know how we can trust them anymore. What they did was in fact a betrayal of diplomacy, he says.
Before Israel attacked Iran last week, the US was informed that Israel would attack Iran and its atomic program.
US and Iran were otherwise in the process of negotiating an atomic agreement.
In the interview, Araghchi says that negotiations can only begin again if Israel stops its attacks in Iran.
- We are not ready to negotiate with them as long as the aggression continues, he says.

*J.D. Vance:* There is still a need for soldiers in Los Angeles
---------------------------------------------------------------
Vance argued yesterday for the national guard being a necessary measure in LA.

The unrest in Los Angeles can erupt again, and therefore the national guard will not leave the city for the time being, it sounds from US Vice President J.D. Vance.
He visited the American metropolis yesterday, which has been hit by riots and demonstrations, which arose after the American immigration authorities carried out raids and arrests in the city.
- Soldiers and marine infantrymen are unfortunately still a necessary part of what is happening here, because they are concerned that the unrest will erupt again, Vance said.
About 4,000 soldiers from the national guard and 700 marine infantrymen are stationed in Los Angeles, and it has been California's Democratic governor, Gawin Newson, who has been against it and said that the local authorities have control of the situation. ( https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/udland/californiens-guvernoer-beder-domstol-standse-trumps-brug-af-soldater-i ) He has accused the Trump administration of escalating the situation unnecessarily.
But Vance argued yesterday for the necessity of the measure.
- If you let violent rioters burn American cities to the ground, then we will of course send federal law enforcement agencies to protect the people that the president was elected to protect, he said.

Novo Nordisk presented Friday the first complete phase 1 and 2 data for the new weight loss drug Amycretin.
According to Novo Nordisk, Amycretin has helped patients lose more than 24 percent. Based on this, Novo plans phase 3 trials in 2026, which is the last step before the drug can be approved.
In parallel with the trials with Amycretin, Novo Nordisk is also working on developing more weight loss drugs, including the drug Cagrisema, which combines semaglutide - the active ingredient in Novo Nordisk's products Wegovy and Ozempic - with a new substance called cagrilintide.
Novo Nordisk is fighting to regain market shares on weight loss drugs, where major players such as Ozempic and Wegovy are becoming increasingly popular in, among other things, USA.
Competition in, especially USA, has increased markedly in recent years, where Eli Lilly is also on the market for weight loss drugs.

Israel's attacks on Gaza continue
----------------------------------
Video shows a nighttime strike in southern Gaza.
Israel continues bombing the Gaza Strip.
The video above from news agency AP shows, allegedly, an Israeli air strike. The attack took place simultaneously with a major blackout in the Gaza Strip, where both internet and mobile communication were interrupted for several hours.
At the same time, there were reports Friday of deaths in connection with aid deliveries from the controversial organization GHF.
At least 25 people were killed, while waiting for aid trucks, according to the Hamas-controlled health authorities in Gaza, according to news agency Reuters ( https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/gaza-faces-man-made-drought-water-systems-collapse-unicef-says-2025-06-20/ ).
Israel's military states, according to Reuters, that troops fired warning shots at suspected militants who were moving towards them in a crowd.
Israeli planes then fired a missile and "eliminated the suspected militants", it says in a statement.
GHF, which USA and Israel support, is heavily criticized, as there have been several shootings during aid deliveries. Organization is only a few months old and is the only one with permission from Israel to distribute aid in Gaza, where large parts of the population are suffering from hunger.

*Trump goes against his own intelligence chief:* Iran was very close to developing an atomic bomb

The American president, Donald Trump, says here tonight, that Iran was only "weeks or months" from developing an atomic bomb.
Trump contradicts his own intelligence chief, Tulsi Gabbard, who earlier this year stated that no American intelligence agencies have been able to confirm that Iran is developing an atomic bomb.
- Gabbard is wrong when she states that there is no evidence that Iran is developing an atomic bomb.
Trump's statements about Iran's atomic program coincide with Israel's assessment.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the same - that Iran was very close to an atomic bomb - and that it was the reason for the Israeli bombings in Iran.

Super-serving Spaniards send Rune out of Wimbledon warm-up

By
Jonas Sauermilch ( [email protected] )
Holger Rune is finished with the ATP 500 tournament in London.
The Danish tennis star lost Friday evening in a long match against Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut after two and a half hours.
Spaniard won in three sets after two tiebreaks with scores of 7-6, 6-7 and 6-2.
The 37-year-old Spanish veteran had particularly good control of his serves in the match, and Holger Rune had no break balls during the match.
In the first set, Rune only managed to get five points in Bautista Agut's serve games, and it got marginally better in the following sets.
Therefore, Rune is finished in the tournament on Queen's Club in London, which serves as a warm-up for Wimbledon, which begins on 30 May. Rune goes out glumly without a semifinal match with Carlos Alcaraz, who now instead meets landsman Bautista Agut.

*American judge:* Pro-Palestinian activist should be released
-------------------------------------------------------------
By
Line Gjerlev Hobel ( [email protected] )
The pro-Palestinian activist and former Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil should be released.
This has the federal judge Michael Farbiarz decided, writes news agency Reuters.
- The applicant is not at risk of fleeing, and the evidence presented to me shows at least that he is not a danger to society, punktum, says Farbiarz, according to CNN ( https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/20/us/mahmoud-khalil-ordered-released-by-judge ).
Khalil is in the custody of the American immigration authorities, after he was arrested in March.
The reason was that he, according to USA's federal security authorities, "led activities with ties to the terrorist organization Hamas". In addition, President Trump has issued an order to crack down on what he calls anti-Semitism.
The arrest of Khalil has been criticized as an attack on democracy and freedom of speech in USA.

EU's role should not be underestimated in negotiations with Iran
----------------------------------------------------------------
By
Line Gjerlev Hobel ( [email protected] )
EU has previously played a significant role when it comes to negotiating an atomic agreement with Iran, and it can happen again.
This evaluates Isabel Bramsen, who is a peace researcher at Lund University, after there has been talks ( https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/seneste/europaeiske-udenrigsministre-vigtigt-usa-er-med-i-forhandlinger-med-iran ) between Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, foreign ministers from Germany, France and Britain, as well as EU's foreign minister, Kaja Kallas.
She points to the fact that EU was "pen-holder" on the atomic agreement ( https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/udland/fakta-her-er-atomaftalen-med-iran ) , which was signed in 2015, where Iran agreed to limit its atomic activities, for example uran enrichment.
- EU was completely decisive for the fact that one got an agreement then, and it can happen again, says Isabel Bramsen.
