Denmark donates 435 million kroner to Ukraine, which will be used in part to provide water and heating in the city of Mykolajiv, where Denmark plays a key role in rebuilding the city.

This is according to a press release. The funds come from the Ukraine Fund, which is set aside to support the country, which Russia invaded fully three years ago.

"Support for Ukraine, both civically and militarily, is crucial for ensuring Ukraine the strongest negotiating position, therefore we support from the Danish side now with an additional 435 million for the rebuilding," says Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M).

He is traveling to Italy on Thursday to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference in the capital Rome. It is an annual conference with participation of government leaders, the business sector, civil society, and international organizations.

This year, the focus is on four areas. Mobilization of the private sector, strengthening human capital and social cohesion, local and regional rebuilding, and EU integration and reforms.

The goal is to promote investments, support quick recovery projects, and create long-term economic and social development.

Earlier in the week, Løkke was in Washington D.C. to meet with among others the American foreign minister, Marco Rubio.

They spoke about the trade war with the U.S., as well as Ukraine and Israel's attacks in Gaza.
