An eight-year-old girl fell out of the ride "Polypperne" at the Bakken amusement park yesterday afternoon.

This has been confirmed to DR by the North Zealand Police.

"The girl is still hospitalized for observation because she has injuries requiring treatment, but she is out of life-threatening danger," says duty officer Christian Illum of the police district.

The duty officer states that the ride is closed until investigations can determine why the eight-year-old fell out.

Cooperating with the relevant authorities

Bakken writes to DR that the safety of the amusement park's guests has always been the highest priority.

"The owner of the ride is in the process of clarifying the sequence of events in cooperation with the relevant authorities, and the ride has been temporarily taken out of service while the incident is being investigated further," writes press coordinator Ida Richardt Schulin-Zeuthen.

She adds that Bakken, out of consideration for the ongoing investigation and the individuals involved, will not comment further on the case.

In July, the ride "Den Skøre Bus" received an immediate order from the Danish Working Environment Authority, after a 19-year-old man was hit by the ride on July 8.
