Jens Dissing was far from happy when the alarm clock rang at 5:40 this morning.

- I could have done without that part, he says with a smile.

He has just returned from three weeks of holiday and a trip to Paris.

But aside from the downside of getting up early, he has actually looked forward to coming back to work. He has missed the routines and the daily chat with colleagues at the iron foundry Dansk Skalform in Aars.

- I had a really good holiday, where I accomplished what I needed to. But in the last week or so, I've also felt the urge to get something done again. You don't quite get that satisfaction on a holiday.

Unlike Jens Dissing, it's not her colleagues that Helle Harkjaer has missed during her holiday. She doesn't have any at Frisørhuset Svenstrup.

On the other hand, she has cut 13-14 customers' hair today, and they give her the joy of working.

- They have a lot of good stories that I get to hear.

For Helle Harkjaer, the joy of working becomes greater if she doesn't take too long a holiday at a time. So she splits it into several chunks.

- Now I'll work the next 14 days, where I'll be working hard, and then I'll take another week of holiday. I get a bit restless if I stay home for too many weeks at a time.

While Jesper Nielsen has been on holiday, his colleagues have kept the mechanic workshop where he works running.

And after a couple of weeks away, that's one of the joys of coming back, he believes.

- You just have to see what they've accomplished while I've been away. And what awaits in the coming days.

At the workshop in Aars, he has returned to a quiet and calm start, where they are still on 'low flame' after the holiday. So he looks forward to getting fully going again.

- We'll go all in next week, when we're at full strength. Hopefully, there will also be a few more cars on the lifts, so we can get a better start.
