Novo Nordisk increases earnings and raises expectations for 2026
Novo's earnings in the second half landed above expectations. Growth is attributed in part to the Wegovy tablet.

The Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk is raising its expectations for 2026 and reports an adjusted operating profit that beats forecasts.
This is stated in a release early Tuesday evening.
The adjusted operating profit landed at 33.4 billion Danish kroner in the second quarter, an increase of 11 percent at constant exchange rates.
It is in the past half-year that the weight-loss drug Wegovy was launched in pill form.
- The Wegovy product portfolio continues to be a key growth driver for Novo Nordisk in 2026, led by the continued rapid uptake of the Wegovy tablet in the US, says CEO Mike Doustdar in a statement.
The upgrade does not, however, mean that Novo expects galloping growth rates for the year.
Adjusted sales growth for 2026 is expected to be between zero and minus six percent, and operating profit growth is also expected to be between zero and minus six percent.
For both, the expectation was previously an even larger negative growth – namely between minus four and minus twelve percent.
Tuesday's announcement comes after Novo recently presented disappointing research data on heart medication. This will, however, only result in an impairment in the third quarter, it was stated at that time.
